All the Birds and MeerkatFerrets? o.O

Chairo blinked, noticing Bubbles' jealousy as Itachi was being cuddles by Lyri. Splitting the difference she laughed and hugged Bubbles, even though she knew it wouldn't be the same as getting attention off of his trainer.

Melody laughed at Chairo's compromising attitude, though she was sure that Bubbles probably wouldn't appreciate it.
Kin'iro decided to perch on Melody's shoulder. Head perching can be overrated you know?

Bubbles, unexpectedly, didn't immediately shove the fuzzy pokemon off. The warm fur was quite different than his waterproof feathers. After thinking about his situation for a moment, however, he blushed a deep shade of red and leaped out of the Sentret's grasp. "p-Piiip!(L-Let go!)" he trilled, dashing to hide behind Lyri's legs. At this, Lyri uproariously laughed, setting down Itachi and clutching her sides.

Giggling, Chairo scampered back over to Itachi, her striped tail looking almost like a snake because of the way she moved.

"Anyhow. How about we get moving again then?" smiled Melody, now feeling at home around Lyri and the other pokemon. "The sooner we get all of you healed up properly from your battles, the better!"

Melody knew that there was nothing better than a Pokemon Center when it came to healing your pokemon after a long day. All her research into pokemon training and contests would no doubt pay off eventually.

Lyri nodded. "Yes, we should hopefully get to a Pokemon Center before nightfall. I'd hate to be here in the late hours.." she shivered slightly, glancing around anxiously as if it was dark already. Bubbles began rambling about how he would protect his trainer, puffing up his chest and acting as if he was a valiant knight. Itachi, however, was too busy running about in circles to notice anything. Lyri turned, noticing the nonstop chatter from the Piplup and the odd antics of the Sentret. "What in the world are you two doing? I don't know whether to laugh or be scared!" and with that, she seemed to decide for she began chuckling which then grew into a larger laugh.

Melody chuckled at Lyri's pokemon. They both had such distinctive personalities, though in a way, that suited their trainer. She glanced at her two pokemon, they were both rather calm and collected... which actually suited her. She didn't know exactly how she would deal with a pokemon like Bubbles because of her shyness and usual reluctance to scold anyone or say 'no'.

Melody smiled before leading the way along the forest path, Chairo followed whilst Kin'iro continued to sit perched on her shoulder. The Swablu now had her eyes closed and looked like she had fallen asleep.

Lyri's laughter faded back into a small chuckle as she saw the sleepy expression that Kin'iro wore. With a bright smile, she walked a few feet behind Melody, Bubbles on her shoulder and Itachi poking up out of the bushes every few feet with a 'Tret!' The blonde haired girl plodded along, looking at the scenery around and trying to envision what the next town would look like.

Chairo froze suddenly as she heard rustling in the bushes behind them. She quickly checked to see that it wasn't Itachi, as he had popped up from a bush a little further on. She turned and retraced a few of her steps before drawing closer to another bush. Peering into it, she leaped backwards in surprise when a group of Patrat appeared from it. They all proceeded to attempt to Tackle Chairo for intruding in their territory.
"Seeentret!!" she yelled.

Melody turned as she heard her Sentret's cries and saw the Patrat attacking her new friend. "Ahhh! Oh no!! Chairo!!"
She sprinted over to her pokemon and quickly pulled her into her arms. She knew that because the Sentret was already weak from when she had captured her, she wouldn't be able to hold up against a whole group of Patrat like this.

Kin'iro has snapped out of her drowsiness at the sound of Chairo's yelling. She had half-fallen, half-flown off of Melody's shoulder in surprise, but had managed to keep herself in the air and hovered close by. It was only a few seconds before she decided to take action, using Astonish on the group of Scout pokemon.

Screeching to a halt, Lyri dashed over to see what the commotion was. After hearing the voices of several Patrat's, she was pretty sure she knew what the issue was. "Alright, Bubbles!" she commanded, the blue penguin-like pokemon leaping off of her shoulder in compliance. "Pound!" she ordered, adding "Quick!" The Piplup leaped into the air and began to pound Patrat after Patrat. After quite a bit of this, Lyri yelled "Let's get going, quick before this gets worse!" she scooped up Bubbles and put Itachi back in his Pokeball, making a run for it.

Melody was still holding Chairo as she ran, not having time to search her bag for the Sentret's pokeball. "Kin'iro, quick! Come on!"

After another Astonish to hopefully keep the angry Patrat at bay, the Swablu turned and fluttered off back towards the two trainers.

Melody kept running until she was sure the Patrat hadn't decided to go after them. She then stopped to catch her breath. Chairo looked up at her trainer, who was still carrying her after all that running. Melody smiled at the Sentret before calling to Lyri.
"I think... we'll be fine... now..." she panted between breaths.
Kin'iro landed neatly back on her shoulder as Melody put Chairo back on the floor so that she could find her pokeball.
"I bet it's right at the bottom. What rotten luck." she sighed, searching through her bag.

Lyri flopped down on the ground, sitting cross-legged with heaving breaths. "Sheesh!" she wheezed "What a workout today has been!" Bubbles, having been dragged along by his wing for the second time in one day, poked his wing with his beak, preening and checking it for injury. "Er...Sorry 'bout that" the trainer scratched her head "Eheheh..."

Melody glanced around for a rock or something to sit on, and, finding nothing, eventually decided to sit on the ground along with Lyri. Chairo sat patiently next to Melody's half-crossed legs as she began to empty the contents of her bag onto the grass.

Sketchbooks, pencils, her berry case, clothes. Everything and the kitchen sink came out of that bag before she found what she was looking for.
"Aha!" she smiled triumphantly, raising Chairo's pokeball into the air.
"Well I guess you deserve some rest after all that, Eh Chairo?" she chuckled, before returning the Sentret to her pokeball.

It was then that Melody decided to re-organize her shoulder bag. There were multiple pockets in it, which made it rather useful for organizing things. She put all of her pokeballs into one such pocket, so that hopefully, this incident with having to spend ages trying to find one wouldn't happen again.
Her berry case, clothes and general stuff went in the main compartment with the sketchbooks tucked in the side. The pencils had a pocket of their own, at least for the time being.

Melody sighed in relief as she closed the bag properly. "Well, that saved me a job later. I'll have more free time to check out the town."

After chuckling at the state that Melody's bag was in, Lyri realized that hers must be twice as bad. "Aah shoot." she muttered. Taking the bag off of her shoulder, the blonde girl decided to organize hers as well before it got worse. Clothes, pokeballs, pokedex, a map, and much more flew out of the bag and landed in a heap. "Erg." and so began the painstaking process of separating the items and putting them in the correct sections which her Mother, knowing her disorganization, had labeled. Once this process was complete, bag was swung over shoulder and pokemon were sorted back to their correct places as she stood. "Maybe we might actually make it to the city before we run into another catastrophe!"

Melody laughed as she too stood up and put her bag back over her shoulder.
"Right then. Let's move!" she grinned, pointing along the path they were headed. Kin'iro made a short, though drowsy sounding chirrup before once again nestling herself on Melody's shoulder, leaning against her neck.

"You're almost like a second scarf sometimes, Kin'iro," chuckled Melody, commenting on how warm her Swablu's cotton-like wings could actually be.

The young trainer then glanced up at the sky. Though it wasn't yet, the sun would surely start to set soon and though it would no doubt create beautiful colours of orange an pink in the darkening sky, Melody wasn't keen on sticking around in here long enough for it to get properly dark. Maybe further on in her journey she'd change her mind about sleeping outside, but for now, she'd rather avoid it.

Lyri, too, noticed the light fading from the sky. "We should get a move on" she agreed, walking at a faster pace towards the town.

"Melody! I can see it in the distance!" The new trainer said over her shoulder, pointing at the outline of buildings not too far ahead.

With a shrill chirrup, Bubbles had launched himself off of Lyri's shoulder and was hurrying in front of his trainer. He would race ahead a few feet, stop and look back at the rest of the group, and then run forwards again, repeating the process.

"Hooray!!" grinned Melody, throwing her arms in the air as they slowly drew closer to the town. She almost knocked Kin'iro off of her shoulder in her slight lapse of attention, but quickly apologized.
The Swablu then proceeded to fall asleep on her shoulder, trying to catch up on some much earned shut-eye.

The trainer grinned and began running alongside Bubbles. She couldn't wait to get a nice hot drink from somewhere as well, as she had noticed that it had started to get quite cold.

Lyri drew her clothes a bit tighter around her. Honestly, she should've brought thicker coats but hey, she wasn't one to think ahead. She had, however, gotten something from her Grandmother. With a grin, she paused and motioned for Bubbles to come. As her pokemon neared, she pulled out a small piece of cloth. Pulling it over the Piplup's head, she squee-ed with pleasure. "So cute!" indeed, her Grandmother had knitted the pokemon a coat.

Melody chuckled at the little coat. "That's sooo cute!! You should wear it more often Bubbles."
The young trainer laughed good naturedly at the knitted coat.

Melody then turned and carried on walking, trying to stifle her small giggles. She was sure Bubbled probably wouldn't like the knitted coat, but who knows.

Bubbles promptly began squawking in anger, flapping his wings and creating a ruckus. However, Lyri had already walked past him, causing his jaw to drop. With a final chirp of acceptance, the Piplup walked on with a face resembling this: -3-

Lyri's eyes sparkled as she saw the gate to the town. "Quick Melody! It's so close!" she couldn't help but shout, grinning widely

Melody was already ahead of Lyri, jogging on ahead, but being careful not to disturb her now peacefully sleeping companion. The golden Swablu seemed to nuzzle up to Melody's neck in her sleep. The young trainer smiled, glancing down at Kin'iro before turning her gaze back at Lyri.
"Come on Slowpoke!" she laughed as she rushed towards the town's entrance.

"Hey!" Lyri laughed, racing towards her companion. "Don't leave me behind!"

With another squawk and a flap of his blue-feathered wings, Bubbles shouted; "Piiiplup!(Hey! Me too!)"

Ignoring the pokemon completely, the blonde haired pokemon trainer dashed ever faster towards the new town. What secrets lay there? What new adventures and experiences?

Melody giggled as the grass and sand pathway of Route 231 faded away to turn into the smartly paved streets of the town. She grinned, staring at the houses as she jogged past looking for one specific building.

Finally, there, straight in front of them, at the end of the street was the iconic red roofed building that all trainers knew to be a safe heaven for them to stay and heal their Pokemon. And the best thing was, it was always free!

Pausing next to Melody, Lyri looked up. "Pokecenter" She grinned, throwing out Itachi's pokeball after digging into her bag. "Sentret!(Hiya!~)" Lyri mused for a bit. "I think he needs a monocle and a mustache." she stated with a laugh.

Melody seemed to stare at Lyri for a second after her statement, before bursting out laughing. After the laughter subsided, she grabbed Chairo's pokeball and let her out into the town.

"Come on you lot, lets go. I honestly can't wait to hit the hay for the night and go sightseeing in the morning! I wonder what happened to those other kids we saw earlier..."

Melody shrugged before jogging up to the doors of the Pokemon Centre and walking inside. Chairo followed her and Kin'iro was still sleeping on her shoulder.

Lyri trod after Melody, Itachi and Bubbles following close behind. A pink haired woman sat behind an orange counter top. "Hello Nurse Joy!" Lyri said, beaming. "Hello! Nice to meet you. Would you like to have your pokemon healed?" the studious woman asked promptly. Nodding, the pokemon trainer nodded, setting her two pokemon on the counter top. "This will take only a bit" and with that the Nurse turned to the second of the duo.

Melody smiled in reply, "Yes please."

With a nod from Melody, Chairo hopped up onto the counter with a cheerful "Sen!"
Melody then turned to her first pokemon, gently reaching up and stroking Kin'iro's white fluffy wing with her thumb. She gently awoke the sleeping Swablu and she blinked, ruffling her golden feathers before realizing what this place she was now in must be.
She fluttered down onto the counter top, landing next to Chairo. She was still fairly sleepy, but looked brighter eyes than earlier.
