Silly Zangoose!

The little boy scoffed, "If that's the case, then why do you trainers always jump at the chance to fight! In a battle, pokemon are just tools, and if they aren't strong enough, then you'll lose every time. Being friends has nothing to do with it!"

Cyan sighed in disappointment, turning to "look" at the boy as he replied, "Pokemon aren't tools, they are living, sentient creatures that deserve our respect. After all, it is a trainer's duty to take care of their pokemon and help them realize their full potential. Some trainers don't raise their pokemon to fight either. Sometimes they are raised to perform in contests of various forms, or to take part in concerts."

Cyan turned back to the Zorua, and extended his hand out to the little black and red fox, a gentle smile on his lips as he continued, "Besides, Pokemon only fight to protect us, we are ultimately the ones who decide when it is time for a conflict to arise. To be honest, I'd give my life to protect my friends, regardless of their species."

"Are you stupid? What kind of person would risk his life for a pokemon?!" The boy asked skeptically, no longer struggling as he started to listen to the trio's arguement. All the while, the Zorua slowly started to inch closer to Cyan's hand, and after a minute or so, rubbed its cheek against the blind trainer's hand.

"A real pokemon trainer would...that's what I believe. Now, what will be your new name?" Cyan replied, turning his attention away from the boy and back to the Zorua, who started to trace letters with his paw on the underside of Cyan's arm. The blind trainer spelled out the letters in his mind, and smiled when the fox finally finished spelling it's name, or more specifically, the name that it wanted.

"Worthington...such a nice name. Alright then, Worthington, welcome to the tea-" Cyan stated, reaching to pet the Zorua before a mighty, concussive blast burst open the front doors of the Poke Center. Smoke filled the area, quickly blinding everyone in the lobby with how thick it was.

"Bow down before the might of Team Gamma!" A voice cried out, the fog dissipating as a group of roughly ten trainers dressed in space cadet uniforms entered the building. Roughly five of them rushed up the stairs, while the others started to harass the other patrons of the center, trying to get them to release their pokemon in the ensuing confusion.

Cyan gritted his teeth, rage building inside him as he remembered all to well who had brought him to his current state, and within moments he stood, glaring at the three Gamma members currently rushing towards them.

"Alright kids, give up your pokemon and no one gets-"

Cyan whistled, giving Tycho the order to attack, regardless of whether or not any of the three evil Team Gamma members had thrown out their pokemon. At first Tycho was confused, wondering which target Cyan could possibly refer too, and then smiled as one of the members summoned up an Espeon, which Tycho quickly shot at with Extrasensory. Of course, with the Espeon being a psychic type, there was very little damage done to it, and it quickly retaliated with a Sand attack, temporarily blinding Tycho in the process.

"Tycho!" Cyan cried out, rushing over to Tycho to try and aid the teary eyed Cyndaquil, all the while feeling dark thoughts suddenly creep into his mind as a dark wave passed over him. He wondered what had caused this, but upon hearing the Espeon cry out in pain, he could only assume that it had been an attack. He wasn't far off, as Worthington had used a Dark Pulse against the Espeon to avenge it's new ally and prevent the psychic monster from hurting his new friend.

"Team Gamma!" Dahlia cried furiously. "Alright Ursa, come on out!" she shouted, tossing a Great Ball decorated with special seals into the air. A Munchlax broke out of the ball in a beautiful display, just like a trined performer, only better than a trained performer. That is, until she tripped and fell. But she got right back up. "Alright Ursa, get ready for a fight!" Dahlia said, taking a naturally graceful yet threatining battle stance. "Munch-Munchlax! (I'll try my best!)" the Munchlax cried, also gracefully twirling a little.

"Oh!" April said covering her mouth with her hands for a moment at the sudden blast from the Pokemon Center. Her expression quickly turned to a scowl, obviously not happy at the appearance of the members of Team Gamma. "You guys again?! I'm starting to think you're following us!" She said an readied herself for battle. She was initially going to send out Chromel to attack, but Kainé ran in front of the group to face the trio of members. It seemed to be riled up by the appearance of Team Gamma.

"Zang!" It said, letting out a throaty growl. Its fur was bristling and it was clearly aggressive towards them. It stood up on two legs, that famous angry look a Zangoose tended to have visible as it glared at them. A high pitched whistling sound was starting to build up around it. April could see the breeze playing across it's fur and realized the attack it was readying.

"Punks! You're about to face the wrath of Team Gamma!" One of the other members, a male by the sound of his voice, said and threw out a Pokeball. A Sigilyph appeared. The mysterious Pokemon floated in the air with an occasional swing of it's wings and didn't seem to show any signs of attacking at first. "Go Sigilyph! Use your Gust attack and knock them to the ground!"

The Sigilyph let out a strange high pitched 'kreee' sound that made April cringe a little. Even if that was the normal sound for a Sigilyph, it didn't sound pleasant nor did it sound happy. Multicolored wings drew back and forth several times as it built up a fast wind to attack the trainers in front of it.

April automatically put her hand up to shield her face. Meanwhile Chromel was being steadily pushed back as he tried to avoid being knocked off his feet. His bristly fur was rippling from the gust attack which eventually diminished at another 'kreee' sound occurred. This time it was more painful.

Kainé had whipped up a Razor Wind. Its dark colored claws had directed the razor sharp wind attacks at the unsuspecting Sigilyph who had been struck right in the midsection several times enough to make it stagger. It fluttered slightly, obviously injured from the attack.

"Stupid Sigilyph! You're going to be beat by some weak Pokemon and its stupid trainer? Focus and use your Psywave attack if you're not USELESS!" The Team Gamma member shouted, pointing at Cyan and his Pokemon. "Take out that one! He's clearly got the most Pokemon!" He ordered.

Cyan scoffed, "With the current set up, I'm only going to need Worthington to take you all down. Gawain, Tycho, stay behind me. I don't want either of you to get hurt. Worthington, take the Psywave and counter with a Dark Pulse between the Sigilyph and Espeon."

Worthington nodded, his cyan colored eyes glinting as he jumped up and took the psychic attack, doing nothing to the dark type who simply charged in between the duo and howled, a black wave shooting out in a circle around the fox, washing over the two psychic types and making them cry out in pain. The Espeon fell to the floor, and before it could fade into unconsciousness, it's trainer quickly picked it up in his arms, stradling it like a baby before running out of the building.

While Cyan couldn't see the act, he could hear the man's whispers to the Espeon, telling it that it would be fine, and that he was sorry...This confused Cyan, who had assumed that Team Gamma had only used their pokemon like tools. But it didn't matter if a few still cared for their pokemon, they took something precious from Cyan, and they were all going to pay for it.

Meanwhile, the trainer fighting Dahlia growled, "What do you think this is, some kinda talent show? Go get 'em Spoink!"

He threw his pokeball to the ground, summoning the bouncing piglet of a pokemon, who simply bounced around on it's spiral coil of a tail. The Team Gamma grunt pointed at Dahlia, and cried, "Hit her with Psywave Spoink!"

The Spoink let out an "oink!" before it let loose a wave of psychic energy towards Dahlia, completely missing the Munchlax. The beam was stopped however as Gawain had quickly jumped in, having witnessed the attack from Cyan's side of the "arena", and had used a Quick Attack to get to Dahlia in time to protect her from the blast. However, the force of the attack, as well as it's super effectiveness against the Riolu sent him flying into Dahlia, instantly knocking him unconscious.

"Gawain!!" Cyan cried out, running over to his friend's side and quickly cradling the little blue warrior in his arms.

"Pshaa, there's no law saying I can't make a dramatic entrance into a battle." Dahlia scoffed, tossing her hair. Ursa nodded in agreement. "And if you think you even have a chance against me, you're wrong! Ursa, let's blow them away with a stage-worthy Tackle!" Dahlia called, adding graceful flair to her command. Ursa responded, not seeing the psybeam that came out of nowhere and was now flying twoards Dahlia.
Oh dear, that's no good." Dahlia said as she saw the attack flying twoards her.
Then, just as suddenly as the attack itself appeared, so did a Riolu who jumped in front of the attack and was sent flying into Dahlia's stomach, knocking the wind out of her for a second. "Th-thank you for the save!" Dahlia gasped gratefully, but she stopped when she saw the pokemon lying unconcious in it's trainers arms. "Well, that just isn't fair, taking a fall for my sake." she huffed, her face twisted into a frown. "Whimsy, leave the boy in the nice officer's care and come help us out, please." Dahlia called, stepping in front of Cyan and his fallen partner. "Please, let me take care of these thugs over here. If you ever need my help, just holler." she grinned, then turned back to her fight. She glared at the thug who attacked her. "That was a rotten move and you'll regret making it!" she yelled, fuming.

April cheered for the Pokemon, only to gasp when Gawain was hit. "Ohhh.. These Gamma grunts are gonna get it!" April said and stomped her foot on the ground. Her Zigzagoon let out a small growl of anger. April was unsure of whether Dahlia was referring to her, but her thoughts were cut short as a strong gust of wind made her fall onto her back. "Woah!" She said and sat up. "They really knocked the wind out of me..." April said while rubbing her head.

"Zang! Zang... Zang!" Kainé said and moved across the ground at an incredible speed towards the Sigilyph. It was using a quick attack and quickly swiped the Sigilyph with its claws. The Sigilyph dodged out of the way though, and flew higher into the air.

"Sigilyph! Use Psywave again!" The Gamma member ordered and pointed to Ursa.

The Spoink let out a grunt as it was pushed back by the Munchlax's tackle, but continued to bounce over and over as the pearl on it's head started to glow.

"Alright, try and hit that Togetic with a Zen headbutt!" The Team Gamma grunt called, watching as the spoink bounced over the Munchlax and tried to ram it's glowing pearl against the flying psychic type.

All the while, Cyan had swiftly returned Gawain to his pokeball, feeling a little guilty for having to do so, but the Riolu wasn't in the best condition, and it wouldn't be safe to carry Gawain around during all of this fighting. One of the police officers had quickly escorted the young boy out of the Pokemon Center, while the second quickly ran up the stairs, chasing after the five Gamma grunts who had ran up there.

"Fweh, take it out with Shadow Ball, Whimsy!" Dahlia called out. Whimsy flew around the Spoink's Zen Headbutt, effectively avoiding it, and then immediatly formed a shadowy blob-sphere and hurled it at the Spoink.

"Ursa, dodge that Psywave and use Ice Punch!" Dahlia called. Ursa danced quickly to the side, although she was just barely hit by the Psywave, flew full-force at the opponent with a devistating Ice Punch prepared.

The Sigilyph screeched in pain as it fell to the ground. "Argh! Stupid Pokemon!" The Gamma member shouted and pulled out a Pokeball. It retreated back into its ball with a flash of red light and the Pokemon was gone. The Gamma member dashed away, but not before saying one last thing. "You're ALL gonna pay when our boss finds out!"

April shook her fist at the member. "You're ALL talk! Get lost already!" She shouted. Her Zangoose, Kainé, crossed its arms. It was clearly satisfied with the fact the member had been defeated and merely watched and waited for Dahlia to finish off the Spoink. April watched Kainé with curiosity. She had never expected the Pokemon to fight, and was still shocked at the result of the battle. She smiled. "Kainé... You did a great job!" April said, praising her Pokemon ally. Kainé looked at its trainer, only to glance away. "Oh boy.. April sighed and pulled out her Pokeball. The Zangoose retreated back into the Pokeball." A few footsteps and she was at Cyan's side. "Hey, you okay?"

The Spoink cried out as it was hit by the Shadow Ball, skidding back a bit from the impact of the attack, but continued to hop in place, albeit weakly. Fearing what would happen if his Spoink, upon unconsciousness, would stop bouncing, the Gamma member withdrew the bouncing piglet and made it a point to make a swift escape.

Cyan didn't answer April's question. Instead, he stood up from the floor and readjusted his hat, the brim of his black fedora covering his eyes as he started to walk towards the stairs.

"Worthington, let's get going. We still have work to do." Cyan said, stopping at the stairway for a moment before he heard the Zorua start padding up to the next floor. Cyan slowly followed behind, his lack of vision making the once easy task of climbing a flight of stairs difficult. When he got to the top, he could hear the battle ensuing, with the policeman on the losing side as he fought five against one.

It was only a matter of time before his growlithe fainted, and with a swift Psywave from a nearby Spoink, the cop was sent flying down the stairs, with Cyan just barely ducking in time to avoid getting hit. From the voices Cyan could hear, he could pick out two Natu, a Spoink, an Espeon, and a Meditite.

"Heh, look who's come to play. Give us your pokemon now, or we'll take them by-"

"Go to hell. Dark Pulse! Smokescreen!" Cyan retorted, his blind eyes filled with hate and rage as the enemy's sight was clouded by Tycho's black smoke, and were all knocked back by the black pulse of energy that fired into the five Psychic types.

"Great job! Now, let's go help Cyan!" Dahlia said. She was approaching the place where Cyan was when suddenly she was stopped by a swift from one of the trainers ahead, presumably a misfire made by the Espeon. "Woah, look out!" Dahlia gasped, jumping out of the way. "I can't see well enough to attack! I don't want to hit Cyan or one of his pokemon by mistake..." she muttered to herself.

April looked over at the two leaving. "Oh guys! No need to be so flighty!" She said and beckoned to Chromel. "Come on Chromel, we should go see what's going on upstairs." She ran towards the flight of stairs to see smoke coming from it. "Ohhh... This is just a day of bad luck and good luck." She said and tapped her forehead briefly. She decided to proceed anyways, carefully feeling her way up the stairs while Chromel followed at her side. He let out little 'goon' sounds as he made the swift effort of climbing the stairs. She could hear the battle from where Cyan was. "Hey!" She called out to Dahlia. "Do you see Cyan?"

"Ow! Hey, what keeps hitting-Agh!" A voice called out in the fog, the sound of metal smacking flesh sounding out repeatedly until one of the Team Plasma members, bruised and bleeding from his nose, ran out of the smoke, his injured Natu following behind him.

Cyan, feeling much more relaxed after having dealt a good walloping with his walking stick, turned to feel a Spoink jumping up and down, it's rhythmic jumps sending minute vibrations through the floor. He pointed at the general area, and commanded, "Tycho, Worthington, get in there and use Tackle!"

Cyan didn't want to force Worthington into using Dark Pulse too much, especially when his friend's pokemon were entering the fray as well. He didn't want to accidentally hit them, so instead he chose a more tactical approach. Worthington and Tycho growled, then charged into the smoke, the Spoink appearing before the both them as they tried to tackle into it.

Sadly enough, the Spoink hopped over the two, watching as they ended up tackling into each other, tumbling on the floor for a moment before both stood, a little confused as to what had just happened.

Dahlia happened to noticed a Spoink-shaped sillohet through the smoke, and knew it was her chance. She dodged the Gamma member who was fleeing the scene and headed strait for the smoke. "No, but I have a pretty good idea of where he specifically is!" she called to April. "Now Whimsy, hit the Spoink with a Shadow Ball!" she shouted. Whimsy blasted a ball of shadow at the sillohet.

"Chromel!" April said as she saw the bouncing figure. "Get in there and hit it with a Tackle!" She ordered. Chromel responded by charging into the fray. The smoke was disorienting, but he charged head on towards the Spoink regardless.

"Espeon, use Confusion!" A voice shouted. It was a female Gamma member, ordering his Pokemon to attack. "Aim at that one attacking the Spoink!

Chromel was struck by a Psychic blast that left him dazed and confused. Chromel staggered around, the confusion status setting in. April gritted her teeth in frustration. She could see the shadow of her Pokemon moving around in confusion. "Come on Chromel! Focus okay?" She said, urging the Pokemon on.

The Spoink, having been too busy with Whimsy's oncoming attack, had no clue about the Shadow Ball's line of fire or it's surroundings. Because of this, when the Spoink bounced out of the path of the Shadow Ball, it failed to notice that one of it's compatriots was right behind it. The other pokemon, a Meditite that was rushing to attack Worthington, was hit with the Togetic's Shadow ball. Said attack dealt a harsh blow to the Meditite, knocking it off of it's feet and sending it flying through the air for a few moments before it flipped and landed on it's paws.

"Hey, watch what you're doing!" The owner of the Meditite exclaimed, shaking a fist at the owner of the Spoink, who just scoffed at the former's response before returning his attention to the battle at hand.

The smokescreen soon faded, revealing the positions of all of the combatants and their trainers. Cyan, noticing that the smoke filled air had finally cleared, was very aware of his lost advantage, and quickly formulated a plan based upon his current understanding of the battlefield.

"Alright Spoink! Hit that Togetic with a Charge Beam!" The team Gamma grunt commanded, his Spoink sparking with electricity before unleashing a shocking beam of electricity at the Togetic.

Cyan pointed at the Natu and Meditite, who were both glaring at Tycho and Worthington with unbridled fury in their eyes. The Zorua and the Cyndaquil weren't intimidated, and actually smiled as they both heard their friend whistle out their next command.

"Natu, use Nightshade on the Cyndaquil, and Meditite, use Dynamic Punch on that dumb looking fox!" The team Gamma member exclaimed, the owner of the Natu having ran long before the fight. Obviously, the Natu wouldn't listen to the strange man's order, and instead flew away, leaving only the Meditite, who ran towards Worthington, who was currently charging towards the punching Meditite.

"Change up!" Cyan called, Tycho instantly recognizing the command and, without any sort of warning, quickly shifted in front of the Zorua and blasted the Meditite with an Extrasensory. This caused the assailant to stumble, allowing Worthington to hop over the Cyndaquil and scratch the opponent with his sharp claws.

"I've had enough of all this fighting!" Dahlia shouted as she watched the battle between her friends and the enemy. "Let's go!" she yelled, dashing into the smoke, followed by her two pokemon. Whimsy was knocked back by the shock of the Charge Beam that was direckted at her, but continiued to fly forward regardless. The trio dodged the pokemon who were already fighting, and began to help out. "Whimsy, Shadow Ball on that Spoink! Ursa, use Tackle to back her up!" she yelled, the pokemon obeying by dashing into action. Whimsy got closer to her target, then launched her Shadow Ball. Ursa followed behind, just in case the Shadow Ball didn't hit.

"Goon..." Chromel said. He was still stumbling about from confusion. April sighed and pulled out a Pokeball. The Zigzagoon retreated back to his ball with a flash of red light.

"Take a break Chromel. And come on out Kainé! Let's show em who's the best!" She said and threw out the Pokeball for Kainé. The Zangoose appeared in a flash of white light. Its claws were crossed and it was standing upright with a serious look on its face. Kainé placed its paws down and stared at the opposing Espeon. "Okay! Use Swords Dance and power up!" April ordered.

"Zang." Kainé replied and focused its power, heightening it's attack but leaving itself open for an attack from the Espeon.

"Go on Espeon! Knock that one out with Swift!" The Gamma member ordered. The Espeon let out a flurry of stars at Kainé. It took the pelleting, cringing at the attack.

Kainé, with narrowed eyes, waited on the next command from its trainer. April, surprised by this, hesitated for a moment. "Okay.. Attack it with a Quick Attack!" April finally decided. Kainé lunged in with fast speed and slammed into the Espeon, who let out a cry of pain. "Yes!" April cheered. Meanwhile the Gamma member was yelling at the Espeon to get up and fight back.

The Spoink flew back from the Shadow Ball attack, it's jewel hitting the ground as it flipped and bounced back onto it's spring roughly three feet away.

"Alright you little pig, hit that fat little guy twerp with Psywave!" The Spoink's owner exclaimed, anger apparent in his voice and gestures as he started to stomp on the ground in frustration. The Spoink oinked at the Munchlax, before countering it's approaching tackle with a Psywave attack. The beam fired from the jewel on the Spoink's head, and attempted to hit the Munchlax square in the head.

Meanwhile, the Meditite that had been scratched by Worthington quickly retaliated with a Dynamic Punch, knocking the black fox back into Cyan. The blind trainer quickly caught his friend before the little guy could hit the tile floor, and quickly returned the wounded pokemon to his pokeball.

"Ha! Looks like you're not so tough after all. All I need to do now is take down your Cyndaquil, and your toast! Go and hit it with another Dynamic Punch!"

Cyan smiled, and whistled once again, once again using the pitch of his whistle to determine which moves Tycho should use. Cyan snapped his right index and middle finger against his thumb, and in the same motion, pointed at the Meditite charging towards Tycho. Cyan, with some hint of joy in his voice, replied, "Goodbye,"

Tycho's cornea started to glow a bright blue color, his red eyes staring at the Meditite as it leapt into the air and pulled it's arm back to punch. The Meditite's fist only got one inch away from Tycho's face before it was sent flying backwards from a point blank blast of psychic energy. The assailant crashed into it's trainer, knocking the Team Gamma Grunt off his feet and against the counter directly behind him, causing both him and his pokemon to roll over the top of the counter and painfully land on the ground.
