Exploring the City like Pros.

The early morning sun brightened the room in the Pokemon Center, filtering in through the glass doors. Melody's grey-blue blinked open, squinting slightly in the light. She turned over and brought the bed covers closer to her face as if to go back to sleep, when she suddenly realized where she was.
That's right... she thought, I finally started my journey!
She grinned before throwing the quilt away and leaping out of bed.
"Rise and shine Lyri~" she smiled in a sing-song voice.

After waking Lyri, Melody then grabbed her bag and searched inside it for her change of clothes. She then went to get changed.
She soon returned dressed in identical colours to what she had been wearing yesterday, only the clothes were simpler. She had switched the school-like uniform for a more natural looking pair of jeans and a pale blue top with slightly darker blue patterns spiraling from the left corner. Her silver hair was down loose and her pyjamas were neatly folded in her arms.

She then went about packing her pajamas away. By this time, both Chairo and Kin'iro were wide awake. Melody wandered over to the glass doors and opened them to let some fresh air into the room. Both of Melody's pokemon decided to spend their first moments of the morning outside in the crisp air of the new day. And frankly, Melody didn't blame them. She joined her pokemon shortly after grabbing her pokedex, so that she could check Chairo's moveset.

Lyri groaned as she awoke. "I'm tired" she whined, dragging herself to her feet. After grumbling and whining so loudly that she woke her pokemon, the blonde was met with a pound to the face. "Ouch" she muttered. After this, she began to laugh hysterically. "Heheh... pound to the face" she snickered, turning around and digging about for a change of clothes.

After picking out a deep purple top adorned with lighter lavender flowers and a sweater to top it, Lyri walked outside, normal black jeans on her lower half. Her hair was a bit curled due to sleep and the air, and a single feather stuck straight up on Bubbles' head. "Piiiipp(Awww Man!)" he whined, poking the plumage down, only to have it jump straight back up. Glancing to Itachi, she saw that he was just fine, albeit a bit groggy. "Where to then?" she asked, leaning against the balcony beside of Melody.

Melody shrugged, looking down at the city.
"We could always just take a walk along some streets and see how it goes." she replied as Kin'iro resumed her position as fluffy-cotton-head-protection.

She stood up straight and stretched her arms, getting rid of any grogginess from just waking up. She was raring to go, though the same couldn't be said for Chairo.
The Sentret had fallen asleep on the table, her ringed tail curled around her again.

Melody chuckled as she spotted her Sentret. She ducked inside to find Chairo's pokeball and returned her to it, enabling her more time to sleep.
"So much for checking your moves. Ah well, I'll do it later." she laughed, grabbing a deep blue long coat that had miraculously fitted into her bag.

Realizing that it may be a little chilly after spotting Melody's coat, Lyri picked up her bag and dug around for her coat. It was a bit battered, but it still was vibrantly colored in rainbow format with black leopard spots dotting the sleeves, chest, and back. She tucked Itachi in her hood and held Bubbles in her arms. "Y'know, once we get more pokemon, It's going to be hard to keep them all out of their pokeballs" she laughed, imagining all six of her soon to be team out of their balls and on her head, clothing, etc. "Well then. Time for a walk on the town!"

Melody laughed at the image as she grabbed her white scarf and wrapped it around her neck. "Looks like we'll have to start choosing one or two to carry at a time if we catch any more anytime soon."

She slipped the pale blue pokedex back into its place in the bag then slung it over her shoulder.
"Onwards!" she yelled dramatically, pointing towards the door. Kin'iro mirrored her movement with one of her wings before hopping down onto Melody's shoulder instead of staying perched on her head.

"Wait.. do you have the key or do I?" asked Melody, suddenly remembering that they'd need it.

"That just killed the image you were going for" Lyri laughed. Itachi poked his head up from Lyri's hood, the key dangling on a string tied around his tail. He then sat back down, satisfied with his appearance.

Lyri dashed down the stairs and paused before the doors, slowing down and trying to look cool. She passed a mirror. "Oh yeah. Looking good" she snorted and snickered, pushing the doors open and placing a foot on the cobblestone path. "It's just as beautiful in the daytime when we aren't dashing for the pokecenter!"

Melody laughed along with Lyri. "Ahh well. At least we know where the key is now."

She followed Lyri downstairs and giggled as she looked at herself in the mirror, complimenting herself.
Finally, they were outside in the fresh air. Melody threw her arms in the air and stretched again. Kin'iro leaped off of her shoulder and hovered in the air next to her.
"So where to first?" she asked.

Lyri thought for a moment. She shrugged her shoulders. "I have no clue. I've never heard much about Celestian City" she admitted, putting a hand up as she confessed. "So, how 'bout we just wander about? Perhaps something'll catch our eyes?" she suggested, wrapping her arms back around Bubbles.

"Okay then." she smiled, "We could always look for a good place to train our pokemon as well. In fact. the pokemon center might have a training field."
Melody had a thoughtful look on her face as she contemplated their options, "Ahh well, let's look around the city first, and train later," she chuckled, "I think I'm going to find a Pokemart to buy some stuff as well. You can never have too many pokeballs."

Kin'iro tilted her head to the side. Whilst Melody and Lyri had been talking, she had noticed a red and yellow pokemon peering out from an alleyway.

Lyri nodded in agreement. "I saw a lot of trainers headed that-a-way." she said after a moment, pointing to a building large enough to be seen over a near-by rooftop, but not excessively large. "Shall we check it out?" The blonde raised an eyebrow in inquiry.

Itachi blinked and followed Kin'iro's gaze to the pokemon in the alleyway. He tilted his head in confusion. What was a pokemon doing in the middle of the city without a trainer?

"That seems like a great place to start!" she grinned, "We could always ask some of the people there if there are any other shops or buildings worth visiting."
Melody glanced over at the large building. It was probably one of the most noticeable buildings in Celestian City.

The red and yellow pokemon realized it was being watched by Kin'iro and Itachi and disappeared down the alleyway.

With a shrug, Itachi settled back in his Trainer's hood, tail curling over nose.

Lyri took off with a nod and a grin, walking at a brisk pace towards the big building. She was rather intrigued as to what this structure held inside. She'd be really angry if it was a museum or something boring like that. And with these deductions in mind, she carried on, nearing the building with every step. In fact, this mystery was killing her. She just had to figure it out!

Melody followed silently. Her thoughts were occupied in much the same way as Lyri's, wondering what the building actually was. It was fairly big, so it must either be some sort of landmark, or just pretty important.

Kin'iro blinked as the pokemon disappeared into the alley. She caught a faint glow of pink, thought just for a second before it disappeared along with the red and yellow creature.
The golden Swablu stayed rooted to her spot in the air for a few second, continuing to watch the alley until Melody realized that she was being left behind and called her pokemon's name.

Reaching the door, Lyri squinted at a sign that was posted there. In bold letters in a jolly font in shouted "POKETCH STORE. COME IN AND MEET WITH TECHNOLOGY." Lyri read this sign aloud. "Sounds rather exciting" she mused. "Shall we 'Come in and meet with technology?'" she laughed, making fun of the store's slogan.

Melody couldn't help but giggle at the slogan. She tried to stifle it though in case any of the store's staff took offense.
"Sure. Sounds like fun," she chuckled.

Kin'iro realized that in the shop there would be a lot of people, and so she would most likely end up getting lost. To avoid this, she perched on Melody's shoulder again, looking up at her trainer as she did so and cheerfully chirruping as if to say, "Lead on!" with a slight chuckle.

Opening the doors with a small jingle, Lyri took a few strides until she had reached the center of the shop. "So.. Where can we get these Poketches?" the trainer asked no one in particular. Suddenly, a bubbly voice from behind spoke up. "Why, come over to this counter! Here we have Poketches in all colors and patterns!" Turning to where the voice was emanating from, Lyri spotted the vast array of watch-like technology. "Woooah." she said, aghast. Walking over, she felt rather over whelmed by the huge choice. Bubbles saw a blue one with bubbles on it and pointed it out. Lyri shook her head. "Uhhh no."

Following Lyri and the Storekeeper over to the multitude of Poketches, Melody couldn't help but feel her mouth drop open slightly. There were just so many colours and designs to choose from! She chuckled at the Poketch that Bubbles had pointed out, noticing that there was a similar one that seemed to be based off of a Swablu, as it had cloud-like patterns on it and was a pale shade of blue.

Melody ignored it and scanned the shelves looking for one that properly suited her tastes.

After murmuring to herself for a while, Lyri's eyes locked onto a Poketch. It was varying shades of purple that meshed together to create a sunset-like effect. In the upper half of the wrist technology were tiny twinkling stars in a background of deep blue. The Shopkeeper noticed the object of her interests. "Ahh the nightsky one? If you do this" she flipped a sliding switch on the side. The tiny pinpricks of stars began to twinkle. Lyri's jaw dropped. "I WANT THAT ONE" she declared. "err... How much would that cost me?"

"Did someone say they would like to own one of our signature edition Poketches?!?" An enthusiastic and honestly somewhat creepy guy said, randomly appearing behind Lyri. "Your in luck! Because today, ALL of our extrodinary and unique Poketchs can be won FREE OF CHARGE by completing a simple task!" he continiued with the same, loud, obnoxious voice.

Melody blinked at the sudden appearance of the creepy man. She had just found a TARDIS blue poketch that she liked the colour of. It was simple, which suited her perfectly. But better still, she might be able to get it for free?

"Soooo... what is this 'task' then?" she asked.

Kin'iro tilted her head as best as a Swablu could at the man. He really did have a half annoying... salesman type voice.

Lyri eyed the creepy man, edging away a bit. Bubbles, on the other hand, growled and glared at the salesman. "Errr... Yeah. What task must we do..?" Honestly, this was a rather shady deal and she wasn't sure she'd like this task. But hey, a free thing is a free thing.

"All you have to do is name the places in which the first two contest halls are in and the places where the first two gyms are located!" he told them, his voice still plenty loud and annoying.

Melody nearly facepalmed. She had read a lot about contests, but she hadn't really read much about gym battles.... Maybe she'd attempt both in the future.
She racked her brains trying to remember the locations of the contest halls. The first one that sprang to mind was the one she had found most memorable when reading about.
"The first contest hall is an open cavern in Stratos Cave.... aand... the second.."

She blinked as she remembered the order of the list.
"Yes that's right. The second is in Solarius Town!"

Kin'iro chirruped in celebration. Now just for the second half of the 'task'.

Lyri chewed the inside of her cheek thinking of an answer. "Well... I know that Solarius Town has a gym." She said, Itachi and Bubbles letting out cries of agreement in perfect unison. "The second.." she bit her lip. Suddenly, an epiphany hit her. "The second is in Crux Village" she said confidently. She was often reading and learning about the gyms and this was really one of the only topics she listened to in school.

"CORRECT!" he litterally screamed. "Miss cashier, please set these two winners up with any poketch they desire!" he ordered the casheir lady. And with that, he was gone as instantly as he came.
