Exploring the City like Pros.

Melody literally jumped for joy as she squealed; "AWESOME!"
She contemplated on getting the TARDIS blue coloured Poketch... but then she noticed a deeper blue one that was similar to Lyri's, though it was more focused on the night and had a pale white crescent moon in one corner. Melody found it hard to decide between them.
Taking both devices off of the shelf, she held them up to Lyri and Kin'iro.

"Which one should I get?"

"Hmmm..." Lyri mused for a moment. "In my opinion, the blue one is a bit bland, although i do love the color." She decided after a bit of thought. After this, she turned and pointed to the sunset Poketch and squealed happily as it was strapped onto her wrist. After hearing all of the instructions and getting a few starter apps, Lyri was all set. Noticing a map app, she poked the button a few times and looked at the vivid image of the region.

She shrugged and put the plain blue one back on the shelf, "This one it is then."
She smiled at Kin'iro, who examined the piece of technology as if it was alien... which it probably actually was to her. Melody went over to the cashier so that she could get her own starter apps and instructions.

"Hmm...I wonder where we should head next, Melody." Lyri murmured, hands wrapping around her Piplup once more. "If this was the most eventful thing in Celestian... Then what next?" her eyes had taken on a quizzical look although this was rather amusing, for Bubbles wore the same exact expression.

"We could always go back to what I suggested earlier and find somewhere to train...." she replied, shrugging. Melody couldn't help but glance at her new Poketch on her wrist every so often. It just felt so cool.
"Or we could head back to the Pokemon Center and ask Nurse Joy where the best places are to train and shop.."

Lyri nodded slowly. "Yeah, that sounds best" she said after a moment. "Alright then! Onward to the pokecenter. At this statement, she checked Itachi's tail for the key. Seeing that it was still there, she continued forwards. "Pokecenteeeerr!~" she called.

"Awesomenesss!" she grinned as they made their way back towards the pokemon center.

*Time skip a few minutes*

Melody reached the Center and walked straight inside as if she had done this for the whole of her life. Noticing that Nurse Joy was at the counter as always, she cheerfully walked over.
"Hey, Nurse Joy, do you know any good training spots around here?"

"Bluu..."
Kin'iro wasn't paying attention to the conversation that her trainer and Nurse Joy were having, instead her attention was focused on a small group of children in the corner of the room. They were all sat down on a sofa and looked rather upset.

With another tilt of the head, Itachi jumped out of Lyri's hood and pitter-pattered over to the children. With a trill he rubbed his head against each of their faces in an attempt to cheer them up. He brightened up when one of them began to laugh.

Lyri, noticing the weight difference, looked back to check on her Sentret. She grinned and turned back when she saw that he was making the young children giggle. Now turned forwards, she listened intently to the Nurse.

Kin'iro smiled and fluttered over to the kids, landing on one of their laps and chirruping cheerfully. At least now they didn't look as sad.

Melody smiled at the two pokemon cheering up the group of children. As she turned back to Nurse Joy she couldn't help but wonder what had got them upset in the first place.

"Inside the city there really isn't much." replied Nurse Joy, "Most trainers tend to train either with each other, or on Routes 231 and 232."

"Hmm..." Lyri thought hard for a moment. "Well, do you think some of those other trainers we met Yesterday are here yet?" The blonde seemed to have picked up a trait from her pokemon, for now her head was tilted to the side in question. Bubbles just looked up and mirrored this. It was obvious that he idolized his Trainer and wanted to be exactly like her.

"I have no idea. If they were in town though, they should have at least visited here to get their pokemon healed..."
Melody stood in thought before sighing, "They could be anywhere right now."

The trainer turned back towards the group of children where Kin'iro and Itachi were sat. She wandered over to them, her curiosity still piqued.

The golden Swablu smiled up at her trainer from a young boy's lap. Melody decided to sit next to him on the pale green couch.

Lyri followed suit, sitting on the other end of the couch. "You guys look down" she stated, turning to look at the children. "What's wrong?" she inquired, eyes blinking. She wanted to get to the bottom of this. Children should be happy and playful, not sad and moping.

Itachi was curled up in a child's lap, tail twitching every now and then and tickling the small boy.

The kids looked up at Lyri and the young boy with Kin'iro sat on his lap decided to speak for them all.
"A mean pokemon stole our sweets..." he replied glumly.

A young girl spoke up next, "We spent all our pocket money on them too!"

Melody frowned as she heard their story, "What did this pokemon look like?"

"It had black fur..." replied the boy uncertainly, stroking Kin'iro's golden feathers as he spoke.

Lyri's eyebrows knitted together in thought. "A thieving pokemon with black fur.." she murmured.

Bubbles struggled in Lyri's arms. "Piiiip!Pip!(I think i know!)" he said urgently.

"Bubbles, now isn't the time! We need to figure this out.." Lyri replied automatically.

With an exasperated sigh, the Piplup quieted down. "Piiplup...(This language barrier is really a buzzkill..)"

"Hmm..." thought Melody. Off the top of her head, she couldn't think what this mysterious pokemon could be.
"Well... we could always go and look for it." she suggested after a few moments of thought. "That way, we could try and get your sweets back too..."

Hopefully this pokemon hasn't eaten them yet. she thought, though kept it quiet as she didn't want to upset the children any more.

Kin'iro couldn't help but laugh slightly at Bubbles' predicament.
"Bluu... Swablu.(So what pokemon do you think it is?)" asked the Swablu, "Swablu.('Cause I could search for it from the sky if I knew what it was...)"

Lyri thought for a bit. "Yes, i think that's the best way. Perhaps ask around a bit and such" the blonde said with a nod. Noticing her pokemon was struggling in her arms, she let Bubbles down, setting him on the floor and patting his blue-feathered head.

"Piip...Piplup.(Well, I've heard of a mischievous pokemon with black and red fur. It's the apprentice of illusion and it can change its appearance at will.)" The starter was being cooperative for once, although it was clear that this change wouldn't last long.

Melody nodded then got back up onto her feet. "Don't worry! We'll find that naughty pokemon!" she smiled, looking rather confident for once.
"Anyways.... where should we start looking?"

"Swab... Bluuu.(If only there was a way to speak properly to our trainers.)" sighed Kin'iro, nearly facewing-ing as Melody made to leave and then turned asking where they should start.

The golden Swablu hopped off of the boy's lap and fluttered back up onto Melody's shoulder.

Bubbles leaping back into Lyri's arms, whereas Itachi flung himself into her jacket's hood. He turned to the golden Swablu and said simply: "Piip.(Indeed.)" He seemed to be in deep thought, turning away and becoming utterly silent, a rare feat for the penguin pokemon.

Lyri noticed this change but just shrugged. After all, it was good that her pokemon was finally conversing with the others in a way that wasn't rude. "Why don't we start at the center of the city and then walk in an outwards spiral until we reach the outskirts of town?" she finally suggested, realizing that Melody had spoken.

"Sure!" replied Melody, willing to accept any way of travel as long as they weren't wandering aimlessly through the city. The young trainer then turned, and with a final wave to the younger children, exited the Pokemon Center.

Melody reached up to her shoulder and stroked the golden feathers on Kin'iro's head.
"Do you think you'd be able to see anything from the sky?" she asked her Swablu gently.

Kin'iro chirruped happily, glad that her earlier idea had somehow managed to get across to her trainer. The Swablu then spread her cottony wings and took off from Melody's shoulder, rising higher into the air where she could easily scan the streets of Celestian City.
